Oktapolis Ancient City

It has been determined that the ancient settlement of Okapolis was established within the borders of today's Elcik, Sabunlu and Kızılkaya villages. It was determined that the name of the city was read from the inscriptions in the tombs by Ptolemy and Herbez and it was named Octapolis eight cities. There are rock tombs on the steep rocks that cover the north of Kayadibi Village in the city. The tombs belong to the Lycian period. However, it was determined that the other ruins of the city remained in Roman and Byzantine times. Since the tombs are built on steep rocks, it is very difficult to get out and approach them. In the Kayadibi Village, the remains of the walls can be found from place to place. There are cellars and dwelling remains within these walls, which are considered to form the borders of Oktapolis.
