Kuleli Military High School

Kuleli Military High School is a military school located on the shores of Üsküdar Çengelköy Strait. The aim of the school is to train current officers for the Turkish Armed Forces and students who will be a resource for the Turkish Military Academy. Kuleli Military High School, which trains officer candidates of our Armed Forces, was opened to education in Dolmabahçe Tiled Kiosk on September 21, 1845 under the name of "Mekteb-i Fünun-u İdadi".
Mekteb-i Fünun-u İdadi, which continued its education in Maçka and Harbiye barracks between 1846-1872, moved to Kuleli barracks in 1872 and took the name Kuleli Military High School.
With the start of the 1877-1878 Ottoman-Russian War, he was transferred to the Harbiye barracks in Pangaltı. With the end of the war, he returned to Kuleli barracks in 1879.
During the 1912-1913 Balkan War, it was transformed into a hospital and some of the students were transferred to Adile Sultan Palace and some to the buildings next to the Beylerbeyi Palace.
Kuleli Military High School, which started education in its present building at the end of 1913, evacuated its building in July 1920 upon the request of the British, and continued teaching in the tents in Kağıthane, in the buildings next to Maçka Barracks and Beylerbeyi Palace, respectively.
