Kas, the Escape Point for Those Seeking Peace

Kas, the Escape Point for Those Seeking Peace
In the westernmost part of the Mediterranean, there's a stop untouched by the hustle and bustle: Kaş. The endless blue that greets you as you navigate the winding roads promises you the moment you step into the city: "Time will flow slower here."

Why Kaş? The Address of Bohemian Spirit and Slow Living

For those weary of the modern world's pace, Kaş is more than just a holiday resort; it's a haven where the soul can breathe. Here, under the Lycian sun, lies Kaş, the escape for those seeking tranquility.

1. A Lycian Tale: Antiphellos
Beneath Kaş's modern facade lies an ancient spirit. Known as Antiphellos in antiquity, it was one of the most important port cities of the Lycian League. Today, the Lion Sarcophagus, which stands in the middle of the market, seems like the city's protector for millennia.

However, Kaş's true jewel is the Antiphellos Ancient Theatre, built overlooking the sea. This structure, which holds the distinction of being the only ancient theater in Turkey overlooking the sea, is a favorite spot, especially for those who want to sit quietly and watch the horizon at sunset.

2. Narrow Streets and the Scent of Bougainvillea
Walking through the center of Kaş is like getting lost in a postcard. Pink bougainvillea hanging between bay-windowed stone houses, boutiques selling handmade jewelry, and wooden chairs spilling out onto the street...

Here you won't find huge hotels, the noise of "all-inclusive" packages, or concrete jungles. Kaş is one of the rare places that has managed to remain boutique and preserve its character. As you stroll through the Long Bazaar in the late afternoon, a different story awaits you at every corner.

3. The Depths of Blue: Underwater Paradise
Peace is not only found on land, but also underwater. Kaş is one of Turkey's (and the world's) most important diving centers. The clarity of the water is so high that when you dive to the bottom, you feel as if you are floating in a void.

Swimming alongside sunken ships, plane wrecks, and sea turtles (Caretta Caretta) is the most unique meditation method Kaş has to offer.

4. "You don't go to Kaş, you return to Kaş"
There's a saying among Kaş regulars: "Your first visit to Kaş is a choice, subsequent visits are a necessity." This place doesn't strive to entertain you; it simply remains as it is and expects you to adapt to it. A quiet breakfast in the morning, reading a book in a cool bay at noon, and watching the sunset over Meis with a glass of drink in the evening... That's exactly the luxury Kaş offers.
