Hippokome Ancient City

Hippokome literally means Horse City in the old Carian language. As a result of the excavations, it was determined that the city of Hippokome was founded on a hill in Çöğmen Village, It Asarı locality, 30 km from Dalaman. There are 6 rock tombs on the rocks in the southeast of the city. On the rocks in the southwestern parts of the city, rock tombs similar to those in Fethiye Telmessos, and building remains dating to the Roman and Byzantine periods were found in the area called Kepezbaşı.
