Antalya Dim Creek

Antalya Dim Creek
Serving as an oasis with its ice-cold waters during Alanya's scorching summer heat, the Dim River is one of Antalya's most popular nature getaways. Originating in the Taurus Mountains and flowing into the Mediterranean Sea, this river is famous not only for its coolness but also for its riverside dining areas and natural beauty.

Alanya's Cool Breath: The Dim River

Located approximately 15-20 kilometers east of Alanya district in Antalya, the Dim River is about 60 kilometers long. Fed by the melting snow in the Taurus Mountains, the river creates a "natural air conditioner" effect with its water temperature remaining around 10-12 degrees Celsius even in mid-summer.

Enjoyment on the River: Floating Platforms

The most characteristic feature of the Dim River is the wooden platforms and "cedar" style seating areas built on the water.

Natural Restaurants: Dozens of establishments lining the river have placed their tables directly in or on the water.

Culinary Stops: Fresh trout is a staple of the region. Fish raised in farms along the river are cooked in butter on a tile and served. It's also the number one choice for Alanya residents for rich village breakfasts.

Dim Dam: A Deep Blue Landscape

The Dim Dam, built on the Dim River, provides both energy and a visual feast for the region. The viewing terraces around the dam lake offer photography enthusiasts a panoramic view where turquoise waters and green forests merge. As you move towards the upper parts of the dam, the crowds thin out and nature becomes more pristine.

What to Do in Dim River?

Swimming in Ice-Cold Water: For those tired of the warm waters of the Mediterranean, swimming in the calm parts of the river is a unique experience. Some establishments have slides and jumping platforms that hang directly into the river.

Jeep Safari Tours: Dim River is one of the most important stops on Jeep Safari tours departing from Alanya. A break at the river after passing through dusty roads is the most enjoyable moment of the day for the tour participants.

Visiting Dim Cave: Located on a hill near the river, Dim Cave is one of the most beautiful stalactite caves in Turkey. After visiting the cave, cooling off by the riverbank is a wonderful option.

Picnic: In addition to the establishments, you can have your own picnic in free public areas and enjoy nature.
